WHAT IS THIS CAMP?
This fun art camp is all about creating art inspired by animals - with an emphasis on playfulness and creativity!
We’ll look at different animal photos each day, try different drawing methods and allow ourselves to be as imaginative as want during our drawings - not focusing too much on making a perfect copy, but instead making something animal-ish - our own version. Is it ok to try to make it more realistic? Sure! But we’re giving ourselves permission to be as different as we want.
Over our five lively sessions, kids will create their very own portfolio of animal-ish art!
WHAT HAPPENS IN CLASS?
I facilitate a supportive atmosphere where students can follow their own ideas freely! I use a document camera on my hands but constantly emphasize that students don’t need to copy me exactly, or at all!
THIS IS OFFERED IN A WEBINAR FORMAT, which works differently than a small Zoom call.
During the live sessions, learners will be able to see and hear me but I cannot see or hear them. The only visual on the screen is me demonstrating.
However, the class is still interactive! Learners can communicate directly with me by typing questions or comments into the Q&A, which only I can see (it is not a group chat).
I respond to their Q&A comments verbally in real time!
WHAT ART SUPPLIES DO LEARNERS NEED?
Drawing or construction paper
Drawing/coloring materials: markers, crayons, colored pencils
